Danny T. Quah speaker Danny T. Quah is a highly respected figure in the world of economics. He is a Council Member on Malaysia’s National Economic Advisory Council. He serves on the Steering Committee of the Abu Dhabi Economics Research Agency (ADERA) and the Editorial Boards of East Asian Policy, Journal of Economic Growth, and the Journal of Global Policy and is a member of the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on Economic Imbalances. At LSE he is also Senior Fellow at LSE IDEAS, Senior Research Associate at the Centre for the Study of Human Rights, and Chair of the China Summer School Board for the LSE-PKU Summer School.

Danny Quah continues to make a significant contribution to the field of Monetary Economics

Danny Quah obtained his Ph.D. from Harvard University and his A.B. from Princeton University. He joined LSE in 1991 after having taught as an assistant professor in MIT’s Economics Department. In 2001 he was named one of ten heroes of dissemination by the ESRC. As a regular contributor to major economic journals, he also found a place in Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who in Economics (1997). When not at work, Danny, a second dan blackbelt holder, competes in regional and national taekwon-do tournaments.[/expand]

In economics, Danny Quah has made huge contributions across a very wide range of areas, ranging from time-series econometrics, business cycles, inflation, and international income inequality to, most recently, technology and economic growth. His experience includes working as a consultant for the World Bank, governor of the National Institute of Economic and Social Research, and consultant to the Bank of England among his credentials. He regularly speaks at seminars around the world on his focus subjects, including inequality in economic growth and policies that affect societies such as international property rights issues.[/expand]
