Hugh Grant won a scholarship to Oxford, going up to New College in 1979. He studied English literature and graduated with 2:1 honours. After making his debut in the Oxford-financed Privileged, he dabbled in a variety of jobs, writing book reviews and working as assistant groundsman at Fulham Football Club. He had his own experience as a survivor of an unfortunate episode in his private life, which he managed to overcome thanks to having a pretty damn good outlook on life.[/expand]
