Dr. Chris Smith is a doctor and a clinical lecturer in virology at Cambridge University. Deciding that medicine wasn’t soaking up enough of his free time, Chris started the Naked Scientists radio show in 2001, podcast and website. The Naked Scientists is now one of the world’s most downloaded science podcasts, the number of downloaded programme episodes having exceeded 8 million internationally.

Dr. Chris Smith presents the Naked Scientists and also makes weekly appearances on ABC Radio National, Australia, and on BBC Radio Five Live. He fronts the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Chemistry World podcast and also founded and presented the first 100 episodes of the Nature Podcast for the journal Nature, the first example of an international science journal producing an audio programme to supplement its printed content.
