Part of the information technology business for over 30 years, Sarwar founded and ran two technology companies in New York prior to setting up his own communications practice. He also served as the founding chairman of Accounting Systems International, the first global consortium of accounting systems integrators. He has written for several well-known publications including The New York Times/International Herald Tribune, The Guardian, U.S. News & World Report, The Hill, and is a regular contributor to The Huffington Post. He is the host of Global Currents for the Foreign Policy Association, a program of conversations with global leaders to explore the intersection of globalisation, international business, and foreign policy.
